Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

This was my first time trying Nigerian cuisine but not my first time trying fufu. I really liked the ambience, it has a more upscale, classy vibe. Service is very friendly and they’re quick to offer suggestions. Prices are reasonable since this is not the type of food that you can get anywhere. We ordered oxtail pepper soup, egusi soup with chicken, and jollof rice with beef. I wouldn’t mind coming back here to try other items on the menu. -oxtail soup 5 - the soup is spicy but it’s the type of spicy that is very enjoyable. The oxtail is super tender. Make sure you drink the soup when you’re finished. -egusi soup with chicken 5 - the soup is hearty. You take a piece of fufu and dip it in the soup. Think of naan and how you use it to scoop up curry. It has bits of turkey, beef tendon, and smoked fish in addition to the chicken pieces. -jollof rice with beef 5 - the jollof rice is tomato based and very savory. You get 2 big pieces of beef and plantains. The beef is easy to cut and it’s tasty.

Absolutely loved this place. The food was full of flavor. First time experiencing Nigerian cuisine and I was impressed. I recommend the Egusi Soup with Fufu and the Star Beer. We tried with beef and chicken both meats were perfectly cooked and seasoned. I will be back, I have more plates to check off my list. 😁🫶🏼 Thanks for an amazing dinner.

Hands down one of the best African restaurants in Chicago. The service is remarkable, and the meals are consistently well-prepared, flavorful, and satisfying. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the food and the customer experience. Every order delivers the same great quality, whether dining in or getting delivery. Highly recommended.
