Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

The moment I stepped inside, I was struck by the beautiful décor and the effortlessly good vibes. The space feels inviting, stylish, and full of life. A huge shout-out to Susana, who warmly greeted me, sat me at my table, and helped me craft my own special meal. I ordered the chilaquiles and swapped out the beans and rice for the French toast banana split. Let me tell you… it was perfectly delicious. Truly the best of both worlds, savory and sweet done right. And the cafe de olla was nicely prepared. Another special shout-out to the chefs and the bilingual staff. As someone who loves observing energy and dynamics, I couldn’t help but notice how well they all worked together. Their rapport is great and you can feel that positive team energy throughout the restaurant. It made the entire dining experience even better. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 – A Golden Experience at Breakfast Republic in San Diego Once you find a parking spot, which is the hardest part, everything else at is pure gold. It’s all comfort, flavor, and fantastic service. Highly recommend! 🌟and there are many other stores and restaurants near by so a great place to enjoy the day.

Grant, my waiter, was great. The staff were pretty friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately the food was not good at all. Everything lacked flavor, seasoning, and pure purpose. I ordered the chilaquiles with medium eggs, a side of “house potatoes”, and strawberry lemonade. Some waitress assisting Grant took my potatoes to the wrong table for a few minutes and realized after the table flagged her down that they didn’t order the potatoes. She asked me if I mind or should she send the food back, but in my opinion that should have been done regardless. I declined because I don’t like to send food back no matter where I go. The chilaquiles sauce was like tomato sauce and literally nothing else. This was the first time I had such lack luster Mexican food in San Diego. The chilaquiles came with rice and black beans which also had no flavor. Everything was extremely bland. I ordered the house Potatoes that did not come with anything except rosemary flakes so I paid extra to add fresh garlic, bell peppers, and onion. Nothing helped, those house potatoes didn’t even have salt and pepper! The only thing worth having was the strawberry lemonade. The lemonade was decent, 3/5, but the rest of the food was literally 1/5 stars. I didn’t want to be that customer that complained so I just paid for the food and left. I ate the eggs and whatever chips that were touching them. The rest of the food I left on the plate. Grant asked if I wanted a To-go box and I declined because there was no hope for that food. Attached is the receipt and food I left at the table. I tipped Grant 50% because bless his heart he was really trying to attend a lot of tables. Anyway, if you try this place maybe you’ll have better luck than I did.

The location at Liberty Station is our favorite! Centrally located in historic navy barracks is relaxed and refined. Seating was fast and friendly! Try their famous Bloody Mary with Jurassic bacon! I had the San Diego Benedict and it did not disappoint. This is a local favorite for a good reason. Service is five stars!
