Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

BUBU Republic is a great choice for a healthy lunch. The menu is extensive, ordering is easy, and the ingredients are extremely fresh. The only challenge I encountered was actually finding the restaurant: thanks to the construction in the area, it took me a while to spot the sign indicating that it’s located down a flight of stairs inside the building. Once I made my way in, the ordering process was straightforward. Everything is done via an iPad, which gives you plenty of time to customize your bowl. The user interface is simple and intuitive, although I found it a bit amusing that there’s an option to tip even though you don’t interact with anyone when placing your order. After you submit your choices, the staff prepares your food right in front of you, and everything was super fresh and tasty. I’ll definitely be back. My only wish is for some hot food options. Currently, they only offer cold noodles, and I think hot noodles or a hot steak option would really take this place to the next level. Overall, if you’re looking for a clean, healthy alternative to greasy fast food, BUBU Republic is well worth a try.

$15 bowl was ice cold even though I picked it up 5 minutes before its 12:30pm (peak lunch time I assume?) due time, ordered ahead for carry out. Rice was hard and balled up, the 4 tiny pieces of diced chicken in it were dry and cold. Better off taking the walk up to Chipotle and getting food that won't likely make me sick. Loved it here in the past but won't be back.

$18 for a half salad bowl. The pictures on the website make it look like we get a full bowl. Don't be fooled. Also, the taste was mid.
