If you are looking for a cozy restaurant that serves delicious food with a vibrant atmosphere, Cafe Roma checks off all of those boxes. This was our second visit to this downtown eatery, this time with some good friends. I really enjoy dining here. It’s a special place to eat and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to do so. Everything from the exposed brick, to the linen tablecloths and subtle music in the background, really creates a welcoming atmosphere. The food is excellent. My wife had the salmon and I chose the Corvina. The food was hot and presented very well. They have an inviting dessert menu and it’s worth an extra few calories. The service is excellent and our waitress was well-versed in the house specials and how they were prepared. If you are looking to have a dinner with that someone special or a night out with friends, try this place. I highly recommend. It’s one of my exceptional places for dinner.

We were disappointed in the food, but perhaps the dinner menu has a wider selection of options and more authentic Italian food. I love fried green tomatoes, but two of our 4 weather very hard end pieces and the topping was not very tasty. The chicken and rice soup was recommended by Isaac, and was the best thing. I had the gnocchi, and it was ok, and my husband had a burger and was disappointed that the bottom piece of bread was so wet and soggy that he could not pick it up. He thought the flavor was good, but would have loved a beef or pork selection on the menu. He had gotten the lunch lasagna in the past and didn’t care for it. They used to have fun artwork on the walls, but now it’s darker and there is only a single painting of a giant corkscrew. The music was good…selections by Billy Joel and Beatles The flowers on each table were nice amd fresh, and the crème Brûlée was very tasty, but was not warm when it reached our table. We really enjoyed the flavor, as the only photo, an empty dish indicates. The service was friendly, but there appeared to be just one server for the whole restaurant during lunch.

Have eaten here a few times and the experience just wasn't great tonight. It was well over an hour between the time we sat down until we got our entrees. The bruschetta was amazing and we had high hopes for the main. I swear I'd rather have eaten at Fazolis. The sauce was watery and had minimal seasoning. The chicken was tender but very bland. The shrimp spent too long in the pot and were rubbery. I'd be embarrassed as a chef to serve that to anybody, much less a paying customer. It got so noisy at one point we actually stopped talking to each other.
