Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

My husband and I decided to have lunch here after hearing about it online and seeing the positive reviews. The location was a bit odd, but we put that aside and gave it a shot. We ordered our drinks, and were offered complementary soup and salad. That’s practically unheard of, so we said yes. We then ordered the Soft Shell Crab appetizer, the Nom Banh Chok and two sushi rolls. The clear soup was delicious and had a rich flavor and subtle texture. The salad was fine until I realized there was a large piece of clear plastic. I pointed it out to the waitress so the cooks would be informed and hopefully be more careful in future. She apologized and quickly took the bowls. Then the Soft Shell Crab was brought out. I’ll admit I had never tried this before anywhere, so I’m not sure if my experience is typical, or unique to this restaurant. The whole crab was fried, soft shell and all, and was black and tasted burnt. In my experience you usually don’t eat the shell. I tried to pick out the crab meat that I could, but quickly gave up. The main entrees were brought out and I was hopeful we’d finally have a win. Unfortunately, neither of us liked our dishes. For my husband and the Nom Banh Chok, it was a new dish he’d never tried before and he didn’t care for it. The chicken in the soup was bone-in, and neither of us expected a large bone in the soup. He's not sure if it was actually bad, or just not for him. For me, I ordered two sushi rolls I’m very familiar with to see how it compared with others I've had before. I got the California Roll and the Philly Roll. I liked that the California Roll had masago on top, since a lot of places just cover the roll with sesame seeds. Other than that, the rice didn't have any flavor, and the sushi rolls were very loose. The Philly Roll almost tasted sour instead of smoked with the smoked salmon. I had noticed another table nearby had left one of their sushi rolls almost completely untouched. I was surprised and a little saddened at the waste of food. After how bad my rolls tasted, I wonder if they'd had a similar experience. Personally, we won't be back.

Our server was a very sweet young lady. I got the chicken hibachi for lunch and it was wonderful! These portions are crazy for the price. I also got the spicy shrimp roll and it was equally as delicious. I definitely recommend. This place is definitely an underrated gem. I don’t know why this place is packed out the door.

Delicious. Great portions. Friendly staff- Great service. So good the phone didn't eat first. Walked in mid day mid week. Very attentive staff. The misfits on the radio and Simpsons on the TV (nostalgia and my vibe.)
