Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

☆☆Hidden Gem with Amazing Food and Service☆☆ After leaving church on Feb 22, I searched Google Maps for a nearby restaurant and Chef Pat’s popped up. I called to confirm Soul Food Sunday was available, and they kindly took the time to walk me through the menu without rushing me. When I arrived, I was warmly greeted and placed a large order for five plates. When they found out it was my first visit, they even made me a sampler plate to try—everything was amazing. I ordered the Salmon Alfredo, baked chicken platter, smothered chicken platter, and swai strips platter. My family loved every bite. I returned again yesterday and ordered six plates. My son was given a sucker, which was a thoughtful touch, and a gentleman even carried my food to my car. The food and service have both been consistently excellent. Chef Pat’s is truly a hidden gem. I can’t believe I hadn’t discovered them sooner!

Chef Pat’s Kitchen – St. Louis Review ⭐ While visiting St. Louis, I kept hearing about Chef Pat’s Kitchen, a to-go-only soul food spot that focuses on no pork options. I decided to try a little bit of everything. Here’s my honest breakdown: Hot Braised Turkey Ribs: I’d give these a 5.5/10. The flavor was okay, but turkey ribs just aren’t really my thing. Chicken Spring Roll: This one wasn’t for me at all — I’d rate it a 3/10. Naked Lemon Pepper Wings: These were good — crispy, seasoned well, and cooked right. I’d definitely get these again. Chef Pat’s Special Bowl (with chicken): Mashed potatoes, corn, chicken, and gravy layered together — real comfort food and one of the better items I tried. Caramel Cake: Moist, sweet, and tastes homemade. Easily one of the highlights. Overall, Chef Pat’s is worth checking out if you want soul food with no pork, generous portions, and quick service. Some items hit for me, some didn’t, but I’m still glad I stopped by while in St. Louis.
