Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

I highly recommend this lovely place. The atmosphere is warm, clean, and welcoming, with a nice Caribbean vibe that makes you feel relaxed as soon as you walk in. The food is full of flavor and clearly made with care. It’s great to have a spot like this bringing authentic Caribbean taste to Alaska. Friendly service, good portions, and a comfortable setting. Definitely worth stopping by!

I ordered the steak and shrimp jerk bowl with an extra side of sautéed cabbage, and everything was excellent. The steak was cooked perfectly and well-seasoned with a nice jerk flavor, and the shrimp were juicy and flavorful. The cabbage was also really good — simple but seasoned just right, and a great complement to the rest of the meal. The last time I had the chance to pick up food from here, I had the goat curry, which i also highly recommend. While I didn't stay to eat, everything was clean and welcoming when I arrived. And the scent of great food hit me as soon as I walked in. Portions were generous, and I have enough to save for later. Definitely one of the better Caribbean-inspired meals I’ve had in a while. I plan to try and visit anytime I'm in the eagle river area.

I was surprised to see Jamaican food in Alaska and didn't expect much. With that being said, it appeared to be a favorite spot for the locals, they said up front the food was made to order so it wasn't fast food. The mac and cheese was creamy, the beef patties were what you would expect. I got the meal with the chicken though and Penne pasta. Oh, it was good! I loved the amount of spice, the pasta was el dente. The issue I had was the chicken was dry and chewy on the edges. As if it had been sitting. That was a drawback. If that is the norm, I would skip it.
