Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

I had never tried DD Mau until this week, shocking right? We moved to Arizona when this place opened up in 2018, and we just recently moved back and realized they are still in Webster Groves, but are in an updated location. Let me tell you, the location is excellent! It’s a bit hard to find parking, but the interior is extremely spacious and well-decorated. This place was packed when we arrived. The cashier was not very friendly or helpful with suggestions, but I appreciated that the menu and sauce list had descriptions. We decided to split the Pork Bao Buns, the Chicken Fried Rice, and the Meatball Pho. There are plenty of seasonings, sauces and utensils available, along with 2 types of water, at the self serve bar along the main wall. The food wasn’t extremely impressive, sadly, but it wasn’t bad by any means. The best item was the Pork Bao Sliders, they were delicious. The pork was tender and the buns were sweet and soft. The second best was the Chicken Fried Rice. It had that awesome browned flavor that STL is known for, but it was just a bit too greasy and salty to be fantastic. The worst item was the Meatball Pho. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t good compared to other Phos I’ve tried in the area. Would we come back? Sure. Not tomorrow, not next week, but maybe sometime in the next few months. Nice remodel guys!

Big open space with lots of seating. It’s right on Big Bend along the Webster shopping (great location). Food is served fast and everything is super fresh with bright Vietnamese flavors. We had the chicken pho and vermicelli with coconut shrimp and grilled pork. Everything was so good! On a cold day the pho was fabulous. I really enjoyed the pork which was grilled perfectly and packed with flavor. Nice fried spring rolls too… My only complaint is the music was really loud and it was hard to hear each other talking. Otherwise had a great experience!

Overall = ★★★★★ (5 stars) There is nothing I could find wrong with this place. I've been sitting around looking for a reason not to give a full five-star review, but I just can't come up with one. It's really that good. Food/Drink = ★★★★★ (5 stars) Food was great, I would highly recommend the phō, and their pork spring rolls are a m a z i n g. Spicy food is clearly labeled, and nearly half the menu was completely customizable (everything else one could order without X or with extra Y, as would be expected). Drinks were also top-tier, my personal favorites being the fruit tea (with optional boba) and the lychee limeade. All food was priced from around 8 to 20 dollars, and while some dishes may seem like a lot of money, there's enough food in one bowl of noodles to feed three people, so it's well worth the price. Service = ★★★★★ (5 stars) All the staff was nice to us, and nobody was impatient or intrusive when we ended up staying at our table for 15 minutes past closing. The person serving was very humorous and boosted our overall experience, hence the five stars. Unfortunately I cannot remember the name of our server, but please, DD Mau, give him a raise! (His name could've been Troy, Cloy, or something of the sort. He had black hair, and looked like he might be about 18 or 20.) Atmosphere = ★★★★★ (5 stars) I could tell this place's decoration had been well thought out. There were couches and soft chairs in one area of the restaurant, and the whole place felt warm and very soulful. The bathrooms were exceptionally clean and the only wall left empty was made of bricks, which somehow made the whole place even more welcomimg.
