Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

I have been a regular customer for about 8 months, eating at this restaurant multiple times a week. During this time, I have often praised the food, shared positive feedback, and even complimented the cook and owner. I have told them more than once that the food reminds me of my grandmother’s cooking, which is very meaningful to me, especially since she has passed away. When the restaurant was under renovation, I also complimented the changes and offered suggestions respectfully. Because of that history, what happened on Jan 30 around 12:00 noon was especially shocking and hurtful. I ordered podi idli and started eating immediately after it was served. I politely mentioned that the idli was not warm. Instead of addressing the feedback professionally, the staff member responded aggressively and loudly, insisting that podi idli will not be hot and repeatedly saying that he “can’t help” (happened multiple times) if the food is not warm. I have never heard that idli in a South Indian restaurant is not expected to be hot or freshly served. Customers come to a restaurant and pay money expecting hot food, not lukewarm food. Asking for warm food is not unreasonable and is certainly not a personal attack. The staff member then: • Raised his voice and yelled at me, • Accused me of “always complaining,” • Made irrelevant remarks about my previous menu choices, • Made unacceptable comments about me working while eating, which is completely irrelevant and none of his concern, • And finally snatched the plate from me and told me he can’t help and can leave the restaurant and told he can’t help if Idly is not warm and wanted his statements to be backed by cook . All I care about is what is served on the plate. Anyways I used to let it go if he didn’t yell at me or was aggressive. I remained calm throughout and repeatedly said there was no need to yell and that we could speak respectfully. Despite this, the staff member continued shouting and behaved in a highly unprofessional and disrespectful manner. I am a paying customer, not a beggar, and I do not deserve to be told to “eat whatever is served” or treated with anger. Feedback about food should never be met with yelling or humiliation especially toward a loyal customer who has consistently supported the restaurant. I respectfully request the owner to review CCTV footage around 12:00 noon on Jan 30 2026. Good food alone is not enough basic courtesy, emotional control, and respect for customers are essential in the service industry. Sadly, after this experience, I will not be returning.
