Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Went here for brunch with my boyfriend. We walked in on a busy Sunday and waited about 25 minutes, which honestly wasn’t bad. I really love their menu — they have great gluten-free and vegan options, plus plenty of choices for different dietary restrictions. I always get the Meatloaf Pesto Potato Scramble, and my boyfriend ordered the Chipotle Chilaquiles. Both were so good. Definitely recommend this spot if you’re looking for a solid last-minute brunch in San Diego.

Pretty awesome brunch. Their breakfast burrito was delicious! We arrived at a very popular time which came with an hour wait, but the hostess recommended ordering and sitting at the outside tables. Following her recommendation we ended up waiting 15 minutes for our food and she even took the time to shine with superior customer service by offering drinks and a little table service to us. Their prices are good especially considering how delicious everything tasted. Overall if you’re looking for a tasty breakfast this place does not disappoint.

Fig Tree Cafe is the original restaurant sister of Breakfast Republic. Both places are very good but Fig Tree Cafe is more reasonable on the prices and a more casual place. The food was pretty solid for a brunch place especially for the price. My only complaint was that the brisket on my brisket benedict was not hot.
