Pretty good choice for sushi. I had a busy day and wasn't looking to think a whole lot about dinner so I asked the bartender (double-duty as my waiter) for a few recommendations. Started with something from the specials board called Salmon Sliders. Showed up as two pieces with a little sauce. They were fantastic! Fresh fish wrapped around a bundle of stuff that included crab and avocado. Creative and delicious! Next recommendation was their North Shore roll. I generally don't order the 'everything we can pile onto a single sheet of nori' rolls but this one was recommended and quite delicious. Basically a tuna & avocado roll that's got fresh salmon layered on top and a bunch of different types of masago over some seaweed salad piled on top of the salmon, on top of the roll. A bit of a challenge to eat and not in the least bit authentic but still quite good. Last roll wasn't so much a recommendation as a request. I was ready to get one more and be done so I asked what came with larger/more pieces. The bartender was up-front that he preferred their fresh (not fried) rolls but I was insistent. Good but not great. Bartender's recommendations were spot-on and I should have stuck with them and picked something other than the volcano roll. Small house sake didn't suck either.

I can’t believe I haven’t left a review for here yet. I highly recommend coming here. The menu is wonderful, the service is great and the food is so fresh. I love coming here during happy hour and spoiling my partner and I. We love the Crunchy roll, the North Shore roll, the Crab Rangoon, and the udon noodles. If you’re feeling adventurous try the deep fried soft shell crab.

I have been going there for 3 years every couple of months, sometimes I just pick up orders. I really like the sushi, the waiters and waitresses have been very nice. The owner does not know how to accept criticism, he’s very nasty and I have had 3 bad experiences with him personally. One of the many times I went I asked if I could add more spice to the spicy crab because they basically throw it over your sushi but they don’t mix it with the spicy mayo that was all I asked and he got an attitude. Then I went back and asked for shrimp tempura and honestly it was very soggy, I asked him nicely can you please get me fresh fried shrimp this one is soggy and he got a worse attitude and said his food was always fresh and I said but I’ve had this here a lot of times before and it’s never like this and he said ( well I’ve never seen you here) which was crazy of him to say and kept arguing about how it was fresh bla bla. And today on my birthday I was so nice I went cause I really wanted sushi, unfortunately he didn’t have any more waiters so he was the one taking the order after we sat there for a long time waiting, I only asked him if they could cook the chicken a little longer make it brown more because it’s always a weird texture which I asked super nicely and he was super nasty worse than any time before. I understand we all have situations but this is not my first bad experience with him, he’s a very nasty person from my personal experience and I like the place just he ruins it with his bad attitude, sometimes we have to understand that when we have a business we should be more welcoming and have a nicer approach on our customers even if we might not be 100% on the same page. I was sad and angry at the fact that I picked Hajime for my birthday and it was so shitty. I’m truly sorry if he has personal issues or he’s sad because of something or angry all the time but he shouldn’t take it out on people that actually love his food, sometimes real raw and positive criticism helps us grow especially in our business. I won’t ever be going there again, it’s been plenty of times already I feel uncomfortable. Other than that, I always see new workers they just might be leaving because they don’t get tested nicely. We left.
