Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

I like going to Joy Garden, especially during lunch to get the lunch deal or even the dinner deal. It’s a good option when I want something filling at a decent price. Their sesame chicken is pretty good and one of the things I usually order. They’re also one of the few places in the area that sells sushi at reasonable prices, and they do a pretty good job with it. It’s nice to have that option nearby without spending too much. The seating options could be a bit better, but I’m just happy they have seating available at all. Overall, it’s a solid spot when I’m craving Chinese food or sushi.

The staff and servers were friendly and attentive and the food was delicious! My only issue is that they had TVs going and the TVs were loud. I like to be able to enjoy my food and the company that I'm with.

I just had the worst roast pork fried rice and chicken wings ever! No flavor or salt in either dish. Super bland! If an Asian restaurant can’t even serve good fried rice. Then all their other dishes must be just as bad. Fried rice is a staple Asian dish, and is so easy to make. Edit…. I stand corrected. My colleague had convinced me to give it one more try. And to order the pad Thai and the sesame chicken. The pad Thai was the worst I have ever had. Why was my Pad Thai orange in color? They did not even use the correct noodles. Carrots in a Pad Thai? I would not recommend this place to anyone. If you would like good Chinese food. I suggest going to Red Ginger Bistro in Blaine!
