Kyoto is our go-to sushi place! We eat there often but tonight we ordered through Uber. There was an error with the delivery but Kyoto went above and beyond to make up for it. The team was incredibly nice, helpful, and truly put us as the customer first. I highly recommend dining them!

TLDR; best sushi I’ve had in my life, I’ve lived all over the world and spent many years in Okinawa, Japan. I am writing to you directly from this restaurant. I glad given up on sushi for years after moving back to the United States from Japan. Recently I’ve been searching for authentic and quality Japanese food. It is a comfort food to me. It is what I knew when I was pregnant and the first years of my daughter’s life, who is also Asian with a very judgmental, family on American-Asian food. I am also a formally trained cook, educated by multiple amazing mentor chefs trained under a Top Chef, including a sushi chef. I was service industry for 12 years. I’m picky. From the moment we walked into the restaurant, they treated my daughter and I like they had known us for years. They were patient. Informative. Kind. Prompt. Clean. They pre-bussed! The whole staff did not just my server. They smiled to each other. Not only was the service outstanding, the atmosphere clean (although some lower lighting might enhance the vibes as the food is something you’d expect at an very upscale restaurant), and the menu outstanding…but the food…oh my god. The food was better than Okinawa and Tokyo (not gonna question it). I’ve lived all over the United States and the world. If you are looking for GOOD Japanese food, drive out to Foxbank and prepare to spend a couple hours here — not because they’re slow, but because you’re going to want to keep ordering more. What put me into tears was mentioning how much I miss my favorite Nigiri from Hamazushi in Okinawa. They replicated it for me. Yellowtail topped with paper thin lemon and shreds of green and white onion. Extra wasabi. Sapporo. $8. I am not only watery-eyed, but writing a review. They made the fattest nigiri I’ve ever had too. Not a bit of freezer burn or that weird frozen watery taste. If you’re looking for truly OUTSTANDING sushi and Japanese cuisine, make a reeservation and get out here. Ps, ask for Nell. I couldn’t be more grateful. Tonight was special. Thanks for the read. Seriously don’t even bother going anywhere else.
