1-20-26 Wow! So excellent! We finally made it after 15 years! So worth the wait! Went on a Tuesday morning right after they opened so there was zero wait. Last time (10 years ago) we were in this area the wait time was almost 2 hours so we passed on through with trying it. We drove 4 hours to try it this time! This place is amazing! The atmosphere, the decor, the prices and the food.... The food! All Excellent! I had the Hog Jowl plate! Deep fried thick sliced! Very tasty! On the salty side (which I like) but for those that aren't into that much salt maybe go for another dish. My wife had the meatloaf... Excellent! All the sides were so tasty! Baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw and black eyed peas. The sharables are all excellent also! Okra and fried potatoes were great! The THROWED Rolls!!! So much fun to catch a Throwed Roll! And they taste amazing! So fresh and hot! Makes the entire experience come together! First time here but definitely not the last!

This was a delightful and fun stop on our way traveling across country. Service was great and fast. Food was hot and very delicious. We had the pot roast dinner and chicken dumplings. Portions were good and the food was hot. But the most entertaining was the “throwed rolls” as they call it. This is where a server comes out of the kitchen with a tray of hot dinner rolls fresh from the oven and tosses them to people who raise their hand, sometimes across the length of the large dining hall! It’s pretty entertaining! Then, there’s also the “fixins” where servers come around with free side dishes which ranged from fried okra to a chop suey type dish, home fries and other goodies, all free in addition to your meal. Great value for the money. We will seek this place out in our travels again!
