Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

My husband and I was finally able to visit Maple Tree Inn after hearing so much about it from so many people. We went on Valentine's day. I was initially concerned because I knew it would probably be extremely more busy then usual because of it being a holiday! Then I thought well they are tammy busy on a regular so I'm sure they will be able to handle it. Everyone was super nice the whole night. We were initially irritated because itv did take a while for the waiter to come to our table once we were sitted but we understood that it was a busy night due to it being Valentine's day. The menu had so many options that sounded yummy so I had a hard time picking what I would have. Ultimately I decided to start with the crabcake which was so good! I got the fried chicken, greens and mac and cheese! Everything was delicious! I also got the cornbread! My husband got the blackened ribeye and he was really happy with his choice as well. We will definitely have to return because there were so many items that we would love to try on our return. So I'm sure we will be back over ave over again.

Laissez les bons temps rouler at the Maple tree Inn! It's a classy little Creole/Cajun brassiere in Homewood. Definitely get reservations, because this place is bumping. We had a Saturday night 630 seating for 3 and it still took them 20 minutes to get us to our table. We didn't mind, it gave us an opportunity to get a cocktail at the bar. By the time we finished our espresso martinis and a Champagne 75, our table was ready. Our server was working like a mad man. He was covering for a lot of other tables and it seemed like only some of the staff was super attentive and hardworking, where others were kind of just there, but not like really doing much. No matter, our time there was great and our meal was awesome. Definitely get the bourbon roasted oysters. The sauce is sooo good for sopping up with their bread. Oh. They have draft wine! That was kind of neat. We guzzled a few liters and stuffed ourselves with a sampling of 3 or 4 starters and 3 entrees. Do yourself a favor and get your tuchus to the Maple Tree Inn. You will love there spicy, deep flavors and fun atmosphere.

Where do I start!!!! If I could give this place more than 5 stars I most definitely would. We started off with the crawfish fritters, the fried green tomatoes and the jalapeno cornbread. The crawfish fritters were good but the fried green tomatoes were out the ballpark delicious. So good we ordered a to go order. The jalapeno cornbread has the perfect crust and a super moist inside and was accompanied by both a sweet and savory butter. Now I am not a huge gumbo fan (because of the okra) however, their gumbo is so perfectly prepped you don't even know it exists. Moving on to the service. We had Joe as our server. I can't say enough about how excellent our service was. He was friendly, knowledgeable and most of all passionately service full!!!
