Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

I visited Pho Barr recently and had a mixed experience. The spring rolls were decent, but really skimpy on meat, which was disappointing. However, the pho was flavorful and satisfying with a rich broth that was piping hot. Overall, the meal was good, but I wish the spring rolls had a bit more meat in it. Service was good, we came in and seated ourselves. We didn’t have just one person come, it was 3 different people that came by to check on us or give us our food. The atmosphere was very welcoming. Small, but has many tables all with enough room to walk around.

I ordered takeout today, and the entire experience was extremely disappointing. Even though my order was already paid for, the staff couldn’t locate it until I showed my receipt. I ended up waiting about 30 minutes before anyone acknowledged the issue, and only after I asked I was told my food would be ready in “10 more minutes.” Meanwhile, I stood by watching multiple dine-in customers receive their meals promptly while I was ignored. When I asked for compensation or at least a small discount for the inconvenience, I was told that wasn’t possible. I spent my entire lunch break waiting for my order, and considering my job is only five minutes away, that added even more frustration. To make things worse, the broth was lukewarm and the meat didn’t cook through as it should in hot pho broth (as shown in the photo). The noodles had only a few pieces of meat, and the quality did not reflect the price. I really tried to be patient and understanding, but it was clear my time and experience were not a priority to them. I also witnessed other customers complaining, which confirmed the dysfunction I was seeing. In the end, I was given a canned soda as compensation for my “lovely experience,” which honestly felt dismissive. Overall, a horrible experience—I won’t be returning and I’ll be sharing this experience with my colleagues so they know what to expect and can avoid the same issues.

I ate everything. Springrolls chicken was not like the best or freshest. The vermicelli is like a fast food version. Not like Pho Hai Van or Nobis pub. Would I eat it again, sure. If I'm at work. Ehhhh. I'll try something different next time and will update my review.
