Cat was amazing as our server. Attentive and so involved with suggestions and pairing for food. Food was amazing and I will definitely be coming back. The general manager was also friendly walking around making sure everyone was satisfied with their food and experience.

1st time in Chicago & this restaurant was our 1st choice to eat at & we were not disappointed. Eli walked us to our table & he was so accommodating & friendly. He gave us all the best spots to check out for their nightlife. Loved that! Everything was delicious & our server, Linda was awesome! Great atmosphere & music. All great vibes from this place. Definitely would come back the next time I visit Chicago.

Omg! We are here visiting from Louisiana! I have been looking forward to coming here for weeks! It did not disappoint! The service, food, and atmosphere were immaculate! We were running late for our reservation due to traffic. I called ahead to inform and was reassured that we would still be seated when we arrive. We ended up being about 8 minutes late. From the time we walked in we were greeted so warmly by a black man with dreads. Then the young lady pulled up our reservation and saw I had actually booked it for Sunday instead of Saturday. I was so devastated by she said they had a table reserved for these situations. We were then greeted and seated by the general manager. Who also made a point to check on us throughout our meal. The lighting was perfect and the music selection was literally everything I have on my R&B playlist! The atmosphere gave luxury, speakeasy, upscale, and laid back! I can’t explain it! It was just vibes on top of vibes! Next up is Robert! He immediately brought us water and did not stop! Our glasses never emptied! As a water drinker I appreciated this so much! He was also so warm and just a delight every time he approached our table! We looked forward to his stops! He represented himself and the restaurant so well! Now let’s get into our waitress, CICI! Above and beyond! She made great recommendations and kept us smiling the entire time! She was so attentive and literally made us feel like we were the only table she had! When she wasn’t at our table we were talking about how awesome she was! We got rum punch shots! Also birthday ice cream to help us celebrate! When we told her we were from Louisiana and eager to try the Creole/Italian items on the menu she immediately knew we took our food seriously! She made us feel at home and exuded Southern Hospitality! We felt like we were in NOLA! You can tell she was just being herself! As a business owner myself I can say with great certainty that Povare is blessed to have her! She could not have done a better job! As if an amazing atmosphere and customer service wasn’t enough the food gave just what it was supposed to! Aesthetically pleasing to the eyes! Everything was delicious and bursting with flavor! We lit up, did food dancing, and really just enjoyed our time there! This was more than a meal, it was an experience! We shared this with the dread headed man in the suit as we were leaving! He asked if we enjoyed our meal! Yes sir and we cannot wait to go back! 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!
