Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

I’ve been here a suspicious number of times and somehow it’s consistently good. The crew seems extremely attractive, hardworking, and emotionally resilient under pressure. The food comes out fast — almost like the kitchen actually cares. Highly recommend the chicken tikka roll, especially if you ask for it “Calcutta style” If you know, you know. Will definitely be back tomorrow. And the next day. And probably the day after that.

I don't go to Washington often, but when I do, there are a few places I must visit. Spice Waala has become one of those places I actively look forward to squeezing into my schedule. No matter how busy they are, the turnaround is shockingly fast, I’ve rarely waited more than a few minutes, and watching such a small team handle the rush with that level of efficiency is impressive in itself. The food is what really keeps me coming back. It’s bold, comforting, and clearly made by people who care deeply about getting it right. You can tell there’s a lot of pride and cultural authenticity behind what they’re serving, not just a generic take on the cuisine. On my last visit, Jackson helped me out and was genuinely warm and engaging. His enthusiasm and knowledge added to the experience and made the stop feel personal rather than transactional. It’s rare to find a place that’s this consistently good, this fast, and still feels human. Spice Waala manages all three effortlessly.

I already loved the Kathi rolls and snacks, but I’ve been SLEEPING on the flavor of the month soft serve (so rich and delicious!) This place is probably the last affordable non big chain restaurant left in Seattle and a favorite for sure.
