Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Our appetizers, the Brussel Sprouts, Crab Dip and Green Tomatoes were very good. The Fried Chicken was amazing! The Shrimp n Grits and Salmon were also a hit. Terin, our server, was very friendly and even though they were short staffed, due to an emergency, she kept her cool and handled the situation and extra tables like a pro! There were six of us and we all enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. The piano player did a great job playing Christmas tunes and the volume was perfect for a dining environment.

Staying at the Francis Marion Hotel for a wedding. Had breakfast this morning at the Swamp Fox Restaurant and it was awesome. Amazing buffet or you can order off the menu. Sylvie our server was outstanding! Food was so good. Highly recommend!

We came here on a wednesday night while staying at the Francis Marion hotel. The ambience was fantastic. They had a piano player at the front of the restaurant which created a very nice background that wasnt so loud as to overpower any conversation at the table. We were seated immediately as there were only a few other customers dining at that time. Our server did seem to struggle the entire time we were there, often the host would step in to fill drinks. While this was a bit disappointing given the high reputation of the restaurant. The food was quite good and portions were fine for the price. Overall, the piano made the difference in it being a good dining experience.
