Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

The flavoyrs were on point and the hospitality and ambiance were perfect for our evening at the Hidden gazebo. The seven courses took us through a journey of Egyptian cuisine with sparkling conversation from warm hostess Noura punctuating the dining experience. Definitely coming back with my friends and family to try more of their dishes !! A must try in San Diego !

There are restaurants you enjoy, and then there are experiences that truly stay with you, and The Hidden Gazebo is absolutely the latter. From the moment you walk in, you are welcomed not as customers, but as family. This beautiful concept is brought to life by an incredible mother, daughter and grandmother whose warmth, charm, and genuine love for what they do radiates through every detail. The food was phenomenal from beginning to end. Every dish felt deeply intentional, rich with flavor, history, and heart. They don’t just serve food, they take you on a journey through Egypt, sharing stories, culture, and tradition along the way. You can feel the passion they have for connecting people through their cuisine, and it creates such a meaningful and memorable dining experience. My husband is Egyptian, so we had been counting down the days to try this, and it exceeded every expectation. I don’t want to spoil too much because discovering it for yourself is part of the magic, but trust me when I say you are in for an unforgettable, flavorful treat. What makes The Hidden Gazebo so special is that it truly feels like sitting down for a home-cooked meal with family. Every bite is made with love, every interaction feels genuine, and by the end of the night, you leave feeling full in every sense of the word. If you are looking for an authentic, soulful, joy-filled dining experience, do yourself a favor and go. We can’t wait to come back!

Seriously one of the coolest dining experiences we’ve had in San Diego. The Hidden Gazebo is such a unique spot and the Egyptian-inspired 7 course dinner was outstanding. The lamb was ridiculous. Every course was thoughtful without feeling pretentious and the whole atmosphere just feels warm and personal. You can tell a lot of care goes into this place. Can’t recommend it enough.
