Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Excellent service and extremely delicious food and drinks!! Everyone was very friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The purple rain drink was amazing. If you enjoy sweet drinks, you have to try this one! The quarry burger was huge (half pound) and extremely flavorful. You could tell they put effort into every aspect/ingredient of the burger. The seasoned fries were the perfect complement to the burger. I’m so glad we decided to stop here and we can’t wait to come back.

There is so much that needs to be said, so please… no TLDR. I need you to hear what I have to say. First, this place is uniquely special and a must visit. Several of us from our extended family (ages 5 - 60) were together as some were in from out-of-state for Christmas. I had told them about this place after we visited for a work function, knowing it would he right up their alley and place we should all revisit when everyone was together. So, we did. Normally there is a live band on weekends, but the owner stated that he assumed it would have been slow and out of respect for bands, they didn’t book one. Instead, they had the NFL game on and played a great selection of music meanwhile, then soon after welcomed anyone to come up on stage to sing, play the piano, play the drums, etc. The owners started things out themselves and welcomed my young nephews to join them to play the drums, even showing them how. My cousin plays the piano and when they learned of this, they welcomed and encouraged him to play. He said he would if there were others up there playing the drums and singing. Without hesitation, everyone joined in and witnessing how music suddenly brought everyone together in this charming place was something that I believe sets this place apart from any place else I’ve ever been. All ages, all demographics, all together and with the best camaraderie. What was supposed to be a quick stop for a drink turned into us burning the midnight oil with so many new friends that immediately felt like family. The warm and welcome embrace that was evident from the second we walked in felt like we were in a real life Cheers. What could have been a bummer about not having a band that night turned into some of the greatest fun, most laughter, and best memories we know we will never forget. Now onto the atmosphere. You simply won’t find a better place in the suburbs. Everything in there tells a tasteful story while presenting modern rustic speakeasy vibes that make it hard to leave. The schoolhouse pendant lights, the wall art and photos, the relics, all of it. The passion and love for music that bonds is so clear in this place. Finally, the food. WOW. We are already talking about going back for more. The pizza is spectacular. We loved that the chef came out to meet us, too, so we could pay our compliments forward directly. Absolutely every I is dotted and every T is crossed from the bartending, the service, the family warmth that is exuded, the atmosphere, and the food. We can’t wait to come back and are looking forward to summer days with outdoor performances which we hear is so much fun! I feel so fortunate that this place is right around the corner from my workplace and within 30 minutes from where all my family lives. Still reading? Bless you. Thanks for sticking with me. Go to the Quarry Ballroom and you’ll thank me for saying so. Be sure to check out the basement speakeasy, which you can rent for private parties. Absolutely spectacular!!!! And we love the way they take extra good care of teachers and educators!

And the food…….Great!.. EVERYTHING I have ordered has been wonderful!! And I have made it a point to order something different each time!! Did I mention they have a live band on the weekend! 5 stars hands down!
