I went to Uncle Dave's a few years ago and was so much less than impressed. However, I recently returned for a fantastic dining experience. I tried to update my previous review, but I am not that "Google Savy" yet, I guess I get a bad review for that. Getting back on topic, arriving at Uncle Daves I was given a warm greeting by two very nice waitstaff. The restaurant was quite large, split into two sections, divided in the center by an island that had a counter service and where the coffee pots etc. are. Atmosphere was clean and organized, and attempt by a golf enthusiast was the theme of the decor. There was an old-time hometown feel as locals were greeted by name and inquiries about family members were overheard more than once. Veterans wearing their military ball caps expressed their opinions about politics, gas prices and taxes. The vibe was friendly and very Mayberryish and this made me want to linger in my booth a good long time just to soak up the comfort of the feel of the community that surrounded me and that I miss in this plastic rush rush world. Coffee was served up quickly and it was good quality coffee. I am an EXTREME Coffee Snob, sad to admit that but that is my albatross to carry. The menu is extensive, and I deliberated on my choice for a good long time. Not surprisingly, biscuits and gravy with a side of sausage links was the selection. I asked the waitress what her recommendation was with sausages and she recommended the links. Spoiler alert, no regrets whatsoever. So happy I ordered this - So sad I ate it all. Admittedly I don't eat a lot at one sitting but I graze throughout the day. I lost self-control with the gi-normous (aka really big, giant + enormous) flakey biscuits and savory sausage gravy supplemented by the exceptional sausage links. Refills on the coffee were plentiful, and I did not hesitate. I did not walk away hungry. It was a wonderful experience, and I sincerely appreciate the waitstaff and all the back of the store support. When I need to walk back in time and find good atmosphere, friendly service, a very good meal and a fair price I know where I will be, at Uncle Dave's

Haven't been back here in over 12 years and I can assure you the potatoes and gravy are just as good as the last time I came. Uncle Dave's will always be one of my stops for my visits to Port orchard.

Everyone had an enjoyable time eating here. We had a table of 9 so we called ahead and got a reservation which made things easy for seating. This place does get very busy. The chicken fried steak was good. The chicken fried steak burrito was also good. You will need to season your food with some salt and pepper for sure. The family and I would return here again. Thank you.
