Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

I broke my fast with my cousin the other night at Zitouna. To start, the interior is so cute, I loved the calligraphy and olive paintings on the walls. The space is very clean and has such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. All of the staff were incredibly kind and attentive. The menu is extensive, with so many great options to choose from. They even served us complimentary tea and dates to break our fast, which was such a thoughtful touch. We ordered several dishes, including the batata harra, chicken shawarma salad, and eggplant fatteh. Everything was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. Definitely check this spot out!

Don't miss this special place! Absolutely delicious food--and delightful all around! We found Zitouna accidentally, as we wandered into town from a long Sunday walk at Land's End. We were immediately attracted to the welcoming, inviting exterior, and were thrilled to see that they were open on a Sunday afternoon. The staff was warm and inviting, and we loved the clean, casual, and comfortable atmosphere. And the food! Wow. The Tunisian-Mediterranean focused menu had something for everyone. We had a hard time deciding what to order--there were so many things we wanted to try! And try we did. Amazing! The enthusiastic owner, Mehdi, and his staff personally took time acquainting us with various Tunisian dishes/spices. Even as seasoned foodies, we had never experienced this cuisine--but now we are hooked. Can't wait to go back again! Don't miss this Clement St.gem. What a fantastic addition to the fab SF food scene!

Absolutely love this place! A hidden gem in SF serving incredible Tunisian and Middle Eastern food. Everything is delicious, full of authentic flavor, and beautifully presented. The cozy and beautifully decorated space makes you feel right at home. It’s a true family-run restaurant, and you can feel the warmth from the owner and the whole team, super welcoming and friendly. Don’t miss their Turkish coffee, it’s the best in town!
