This was my first time trying Acapulco Mexican Restaurant in Newton, and it will definitely be my last. I ordered two plates of nachos and chips with salsa on the side. The total was almost $50, which seemed very expensive, but I decided to give it a chance. When I got home, I realized the order was completely wrong — the wrong chips, wrong toppings, and everything just looked thrown together. I called to ask for a refund since I didn’t want the food anymore. They told me to come back, but when I arrived the doors were locked, almost like they didn’t want me to come in. A customer leaving let me inside. They had supposedly “remade” the food, but it was still wrong. At that point I told them I just wanted a refund. That’s when the supposed owner came out and started screaming at me, pointing in my face, and telling me to “never come back” and to “go back where I came from.” The employees even looked embarrassed and were telling him to calm down. When I had to step outside to get my wallet so I could get the refund, they locked me out again. I ended up having to call the police just to get this situation resolved. The whole experience was disrespectful and hostile. No customer should ever be treated this way, especially after spending $50 on nachos. Being yelled at and told things like that was unacceptable. I will never return here, and I would strongly recommend others avoid this place. ZERO STARS!!!

Restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. Servers were friendly and helpful. Chicken mole was very good, California Enchiladas were okay but tasted mostly like cheese. The Pollo Special was enjoyed as were the beef soft tacos. Price was acceptable for the size of our group. Would eat here again and suggest to others.

Food was no beueno... $18 Taco ground meat tasted like store bought old elpaso seasoning. $21 Fajitas uno, was like a sautéed stew, on the side of the plate of beans n rice....not a piping hot,sizzling skillet anymore... $18 steak fries..cold fries, steak bits sprinkled in there, big cold mess.
