Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

We don’t get thru this way often, but on our way to the airport via Lancaster we made a point to start our vacation off here, and let me say The Ale House 1890 did not disappoint. From the service to the drinks, the appetizer and the main course was amazing. We already are looking forward to our next visit.

I’ve been back to this place three times now, and my initial assessment stands: The Ale House is awesome. Every menu item I’ve tried has been well-prepared, flavorful, and unique. The staff are very friendly. The service speed is average to pretty quick depending on the time of my visit - no complaints. I recommend their burgers and their rotating desserts. Their locally-made cakes are some of the best I’ve tried in my life. Can’t wait to go back!

The food here was phenomenal along with our beverages from the bar. The price for the quality was a solid steal. This has been the best place to eat since visiting the logan/hocking hills area.
