Al Sham Restaurant's lamb dishes have garnered praise from reviewers, with several noting that the lamb is well seasoned and flavorful. The lamb kebob entree, in particular, has been described as fresh and delicious. While the rice, salad, and white sauce accompanying the lamb have been deemed average, the lamb itself is a standout. Reviewers have noted some issues with service, including long wait times and understaffing. One reviewer even reported receiving a dish that looked nothing like the advertised shawarma. It's worth noting that this location may be experiencing operational challenges, and it's best to plan ahead and arrive early to avoid long wait times.

Excerpts

We ordered lamb over rice and it was pretty good. The lamb was well seasoned and very flavorful. It is the most seasoned lamb and rice I've had in philly. The rice, salad, and white sauce was average. The portion sizes were about average. They followed all directions. Heads up: the seasonings added some spice. So the red sauce amplified it. The red sauce was way hotter than usual! I'd suggest getting it on the side so you can try it out. My bf dumped it all over his food and it was too spicy to enjoy. So unless you like really spicy stuff, the red hot sauce might ruin it. But I only got white sauce and it was delicious.

😤😤😤😤 I ordered a beef shawarma and waited about 30 minutes. When I finally got my food, it didn’t even look like a real shawarma — it was something completely different. I’ve always liked Al Sham Restaurant, but this location is terrible. It seems like they’re understaffed, and the food is made very poorly. This is the second time I’ve made the mistake of ordering here. I ended up leaving the food I ordered there. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place.

Got some Lamb kebob Entree…… Fresh and incredibly delicious 🤤 customer service is 10/10. Very clean and employees are very friendly. If you wanna try halal food in Philly this the best place to choose.
