Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

As if Allegro couldn't get any better, they created donuts! I've never found a bakery that does what Allegro does, their cinnamon rolls are magic! Honorable mention for their chocolate chip cookies, or honestly anything they carry! I recommend this to anyone visiting the Pittsburgh area. I have many friends who aren't vegan and still say they're the best cinnamon rolls they've ever had.

Take-out only vegan bakery, but wow, it doesn’t matter if you’re vegan or not, everything here is just so yummy! The pastries are so pretty and constantly changing it up. But, the sandwiches, esp the seitan melt, were so delicious. The flavors, the pairings, and of course, their bread is top tier! One of my favorite spots in Squirrel Hill, worth waiting in line for, do not miss out!

I can't believe I haven't written a review of this place yet, because I go out of my way to go here anytime I'm in Pittsburgh. You would not believe what a transcendent experience it is to find *vegan* croissants that are so perfect in every way! All of their baked goods are phenomenal. The only reason for four stars on the atmosphere is because it's a pretty small storefront with no place to sit. Maybe someday they will be able to expand and offer that, but it's a small trade-off for their celestial ::angelic choir:: bakery delights and delicious sandwiches! Even my non-vegan family members are stoked when I bring them goodies from Allegro!
