We had phenomenal experience at Alyonka this afternoon. I visited the restaurant for the first time today and had my friend who had never tried any Russian food, and the service was amazing. Elena is a wonderful woman who told us the story of the place as well as exceptional service during our entire time there. We had assorted blintses, pelmeni, honey cake and Pavlova as well as some good Georgian wine! If you have not tried such food and want to get some memorable experiences this is the place to go. It's very authentic, with good homemade food and beautiful paintings all over!

What a fantastic meal! Everything was so delicious and authentic. We started with the borscht. It was hearty with shredded beets and chopped potatoes. The broth was rich and savory. The bowl came with a lightly toasted bread and a side of sour cream. Next up was the burrata salad. This could be the highlight of the meal for me. The salad was a feast for the eyes and palatte. Normally, I don’t like arugula but the salad had that as the base with ripe heirloom tomatoes, peaches, a generous portion of the burrata cheese topped with pesto, basil, vinaigrette and oil. Just WOW!!!! Next up were an assortment of dishes to sample and take home. We ordered the beef stroganoff, the lamb plof,, and the pelmini in broth. They were all so delicious but our favorite was the pelmini in that delicate broth. The service was attentive, friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back!
