Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Unfortunately, I come from New Jersey where even the worst meal I've had was better than this. It was only downhill when the complimentary salad clearly came out of a bag. I ordered the sauerbrauten and they definitely did not seem to skimp on the "sauer" because it was very acidic, so the overcooked steak was actually better without the sauce. The worst part of the meal for me personally was that the private party room was extremely hot, and since it had is own bathroom attached, the whole room smelled like urinal cake. Not the best cake to smell while eating tbh. However, none of this should reflect on the servers- they were excellent. My 90 year old grandfather enjoyed his meal so that was good at least!

If you love German food, don't bother. If you like salt, flavor, or a great deal on your meal, also don't waste your time. My steak stroganoff ($24) arrived with bland curdled sauce and sopping wet noodles. The potato pancakes (2 for $11.50) are the size of small hamburger patties and aren't actually authentic potato pancakes, but rather fried mashed potato cakes. Our three sausage sampler ($19) was mid--the bratwurst tasted like a hamburger patty, the knockwurst tasted like soapy bologna, but the Lithuanian sausage was pretty on point. The sauerkraut balls ($10.50) were good, the star of the dish being the side sauces. The mashed potato and sauerkraut sides were great. Our "Caesar" salads were regular house salads. Good portions for the sausage dinner, huge portion of the (unedible) stroganoff, and disappointing potato pancakes for the price. Do yourself a favor, and just don't. ***of note, the staff and ambiance were delightful. But its really unfortunate what they serve out of that kitchen.
