Asahi Express Japanese Steak House & Seafood

I've not eaten here in a few years and while in Tifton I decided to eat out. I was going to another place when i remembered Asahi. I'm glad to say the food has not changed. It is still very good and reasonably priced. I will say, I returned 2 weeks ago and the rice had more oil than it did the time before. I am Whole Food Plant Based and try to steer clear of oils but I know they do use oils in Asian foods. Anyway, I had the vegetable hibachi rice and an eggroll. I did not care for how they prepare the eggroll. Appeared to be minced ingredients instead of rolling the contents in the wrap. Be careful parking if you are dining in. The parking lot was poorly designed as they have a very high drive thru traffic and the line blocks your entrance or exit at times.

Had lunch here today on my way back from Tennessee to Florida. Found it based on the reviews. Used to have a place like this back home but I moved and have been craving it! This place really hit the mark. Ordered a combination plate of Chicken and Shrimp. It came with sweet carrots, broccoli, mushrooms and fried rice with a side of the white yum yum sauce. We got a side of mushrooms which was huge and way more than I expected. They were very tasty and came out steamy and piping hot. Very good portions too. Plenty of food for two people. A few things I didn't like were the rice was a little too salty from the soy sauce they added for my taste and the bigger pieces of chicken were a tad dry but the white sauce helped it a bit. The eggroll I ordered was was also a bit dry. Other than that, really pleased with the meal. I'd definitely go back if I lived in the area.
