Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Our group got seated in the back bar which worked out since that was where the best ambiance and aesthetics were for this restaurant, and was moderately spacious despite being bar seating up on the wall. Gracie did a great job serving our group as first timers here explaining the menu with our drinks and food delivered fairly quickly as well. The food is very good, we fell in love with the seasonal dessert ube cheesecake that Gracie highly recommended, it did not disappoint! Photos: masu sized sake. shōyu ramen. ube cheesecake.

I had an amazing experience at Attack of the Tatsu in Chattanooga, and a huge part of that was Mary’s exceptional service! From the moment we walked in, she made us feel welcome and taken care of. Mary was attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu — she helped us decide what to try and had great recommendations. The food was fantastic (the ramen and katsu were highlights!), but Mary’s warm hospitality really made the meal feel special. She checked in just the right amount, was enthusiastic without being pushy, and truly elevated our dining experience. If you’re headed here, definitely ask for Mary — she’s the reason we’ll be back

Attack of the Tatsu in Chattanooga is a fun, high-energy spot that brings a modern Japanese izakaya vibe to downtown. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere stands out — vibrant décor, cozy seating, and a laid-back but lively feel that makes it great for a casual dinner or meeting up with friends. The menu offers a solid variety of ramen bowls, katsu dishes, and small plates. The tonkotsu ramen is rich and comforting, with tender pork and a flavorful broth that hits the spot. The katsu curry is another highlight — crispy, well-seasoned, and served in generous portions. Appetizers like tempura mushrooms or sliders are perfect for sharing and pair well with their sake and cocktail selection.
