Dining at Axum Ethiopian Restaurant was a truly memorable experience. The food is outstanding — rich in flavor, beautifully spiced, and deeply comforting. The injera was fresh and perfectly prepared, and each dish reflected the authenticity and depth of Ethiopian cuisine. One small suggestion: because Ethiopian food is not as common for many diners, it would be wonderful if the service included a slightly more “educational” approach — perhaps guiding guests on how to best enjoy the dishes and the traditional dining style. For those unfamiliar with the culture, a bit more explanation could elevate the experience even further. That said, with a little curiosity and personal research, everything comes together beautifully — and the meal was absolutely worth it. A five-star experience overall, and I would gladly return.

Located on a busy street. Paid parking available in front of the restaurant. But with kids , be extra careful getting off the car Food tasted good. Service was friendly. They brought more of the vegetables side items , when we finished them and asked for more. Reasonably priced Doro wat chicken dish is a must try. Special coffee was good. Restroom was clean

It’s located near downtown Indianapolis with easy access. I love how friendly and welcoming the people are, and the presentation is amazing. I always enjoy trying a combination of the meat and vegan options — they have a nice mix of flavors. You can also taste the local wine, which is a great touch. I was just a little disappointed that they don’t have traditional Ethiopian coffee, but overall, it was a great experience.
