Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

I’ve visited Bangalore Tiffin Room a couple of times now, and my experiences have been a bit mixed. A few months ago, I had the pleasure of trying their Thatte Ghee Podi Idly, Benne Dosa, Vada, and Khara Bath. Everything was flavorful, tasty, and exactly what I expected — a wonderful South Indian breakfast! 😊✨ However, when we visited again yesterday, there was a noticeable difference in taste. While the sambar still tasted great, the other dishes didn’t quite hit the mark. The peanut chutney was a bit on the sweet side, and the Benne Dosa was unevenly cooked — thick on one side and thin on the other. Tried mint dosa but there isn’t much flavour. The Ghee Podi Thatte Idly also missed the mark. It was too spicy and didn’t have that signature taste I remembered. The Khara Bath was spicier than usual, which I didn’t enjoy as much. Additionally, the Filter Coffee wasn’t served hot enough, it was just warm which was a letdown. ☕❄️ Pros: ✔️ Authentic South Indian dishes (when made right) ✔️ Sambar is consistently good ✔️ Great variety of options Cons: ▫️ Inconsistent quality in food ▫️ Dosa wasn’t cooked properly ▫️ Too spicy for my taste this time ▫️ Coffee wasn’t hot enough I hope it’s just an off day, but I may be hesitant to return anytime soon. I’ll be looking out for improvements.

OG Masala Dosa mattu aa sambar… full psych guru!!! MUST TRY! Drove all the way from Dallas just for the OG Masala Dosa — and it was absolutely worth it. The dosa was perfectly c right in every way. But the real star was the sambar — rich, authentic, and packed with that proper Bangalore flavor. We also had vade, idly, pheni with warm milk, and filter kapi ❤️ — everything tasted fresh and homely. It genuinely felt like eating back in Bangalore. If you’re craving real Bangalore-style food, this place truly delivers. I sincerely hope they maintain this same fine taste and consistency. Will definitely be back!

If you’re looking for good South Indian tiffin-style food, this is your place. The setup is more fast-food style, but the place is clean and well maintained. Food was tasty and service was good. We tried the Tatai Idli, Curry Leaf Dosa, OG Bangalore Style Masala Dosa, and Chow Chow Bath. The dosa is true Bangalore style — slightly smaller in size, thicker, crispy on the outside and soft inside. The masala filling was flavorful and well balanced. We especially loved the chutney served with the Tatai idli. The sambar was okay. Filter coffee was really good. We also tried the Gadbad Sundae, which was excellent. The Sugarcane Mojito was refreshing but not worth $10 in our opinion. Overall, a solid spot for authentic South Indian breakfast/snacks.
