Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Very disappointing experience. The beef and cheddar sandwiches were extremely dry and crusty, to the point where it was hard to even choke down the beef. The flavor was just bad overall. We also ordered cheese fries, which were heavily over-salted, and the fries weren’t even fully cooked. The entire meal was pretty disgusting and not enjoyable at all. Definitely not like any of the other locations. Don’t waste your money.

If you want your order correct, or any semblance of an enjoyable experience, do NOT come to this location. Beef-A-Roo in general is a great establishment but this location is a joke. My food order was incorrect, I asked for a pork tenderloin with cheese and ketchup, that's it, instead it came with everything on it, pickles and onions as well. It took 20 minutes as it was to get my order so I didn't want to wait another 20 for another sandwich so I just picked off the other toppings. I asked for a half lemonade, half tea, NO ICE. Was brought a full lemonade with ice, told the server it was supposed to be half tea with no ice, she brought it back with tea in it and still full of ice. Because this location is only outdoor dining, in order to sit and enjoy a meal not inside my truck, I had to instead fight the bees and flies for my lunch. The only good thing was the cheese fries, and the fries themself weren't even fresh, but they were okay enough with the cheese on them. First and last time visiting this location. I want to reiterate that this is not a reflection on the chain in general, just this location.

The food has really improved since the last time I've been here. Rockford's locations are generally better in quality, but my recent order was perfect! The only gripe I have is that they forgot to give me barbecue sauce, but it's just a little nitpick. Overall, definitely a better experience.
