Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Did a quick lunch with my partner on his lunch break. He had been raving about this place and how it was the best gyro he’s had, so we stopped by together. I will say I have to agree with him that this is one of the best spots we’ve been to down this way. He got the spicy gyro wrap and I got the shawarma plate! Their rice pilaf is fluffy and their meats are so seasoned. We also got the grape leaf rolls and kabobs to go and also equally tasty. I would highly recommend visiting if you’re thinking of it! The people working were so incredibly nice and friendly too. One of the best experiences I’ve had in a while, both in service and food.

We love Middle-Eastern food, so it probably wasn't long after we moved to Minnesota in 1992 that we started eating at Beirut, the family-owned Lebanese restaurant that was on Robert Street until last year. The owners retired and their children opened up what I would call an annex in Rosemount. The storefront fast casual place serves many of the favorite menu items from the old restaurant. We got the gyro plate with rice and the hummus bowl with pita. The gyro meat was well seasoned and perfectly cooked, the rice was luscious and buttery as always, and the hummus was delicious. Same food, same friendly family, same excellent service, just in a much smaller, less fancy venue. The only disappointment was the pita, which was served cold and left me dreaming of the warm, pillowy bread that we used to get in St. Paul.
