It was our first time going to Bellis. I was impressed with how kind our waitress was and how delicious the food was. We got the California Burrito and the Korean BBQ sandwich. Both were 10/10! For dessert we tried the Chocolate Concha and Hibiscus Concha. The bread was fluffy and sweet. It was also 10/10. For drinks we had a match latte and cranberry juice. Both tasted homemade and the cranberry juice was fresh. Overall it’s definitely a place to try out if you’re in the area.

This evening I visited Bellis for dinner. We were immediately greeted by Misha and he made sure we were seated comfortably near the window with lovely flowers. Kadee was our server and she was very attentive and friendly. She was happy to answer any questions we had about the food. I am not vegan, but I love to eat locally sourced, organic vegetables and don’t need meat to make the meal. I had experienced the chef’s work at a wedding a couple years back and I knew based on that experience that I would love the food. I started with a nice refreshing plum kvass. I had never tasted kvass, but I really enjoyed it. I felt like I was eating a fresh plum. I had the potato gnocchi for my entree and it was incredible. I particularly enjoyed the purée and the veggies that accompanied the potato gnocchi. I found myself wanting to lick my plate afterward, but I used restraint. I think my favorite flavors that I enjoyed this evening came from the pumpkin mousse. The pumpkin, toasted seeds with gram crust, and the mascarpone was the perfect way to end the evening. I am really happy to see more options for fine dining here in downtown Visalia. I am also going to have to pick up a vegan pizza for lunch some time soon. They have some really good luck specials.

Went here on a Sunday afternoon (LSOB). Place was a little busy and parking easy to find. Came here during brunch with a few friends. I tried their Strawberry Kvass. I've never had kvass and had to Google it. Based on what I read, it's supposed to be fermented with a sweet and sour taste. This drink was much more on the sweeter, fruitier side, but it was very refreshing and delicious! I had their Seasonal Frittata. Since it's vegan, the base was diced zucchini and potato (I believe) and had green beans, olive oil and vegan cheese (I believe). It was well-crafted, refreshing and delicious! I also sampled their French Toast with Créme Anglaise and Candied Calamansi. Oh boy, that was really good! Zesty, refreshing and sugary sweet! Overall, a great addition to the Downtown Visalia scene. Carefully-crafted, fresh-ingredient plates. Don't expect leaving here stuffed, but expect to appreciate the construction and taste of the plate. My only gripe was that it took a table of 5 one hour to get our food. Hopefully, this is just a bug that can be fixed. I'll need to come back for their dinner offerings, but based on what I had it'll be worth the seating.
