Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

My wife wanted French onion soup for dinner tonight, so we decided to go to Blondie's to try theirs. It was at the end of the day on a Sunday, just before the kitchen closed, but everyone was still helpful and friendly. I got the French onion soup too and the salmon dinner since I was much more hungry. The waitress was excellent and the food came out in a reasonable time. They had several beers on tap so I got one and my wife got a hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps to keep us busy. We both thought the French onion soup was very good but not quite the best we've ever had. My salmon could have used a piece of corn bread to go with it. For some reason they go great together, in my humble opinion. Also, the side Caesar salad was very tasty especially for being at the end of the night. We enjoyed the fireplace and will be coming back to try some other things when we get a chance.

Fellow patrons: YOU MAY WANT TO AVOID EATING HERE. It was a great place when it opened, gets a lot of hype since it was nationally featured some time ago, but the quality of food and service is abysmal now. There have been food quality issues with my last 4 orders. It doesn’t help to speak to management directly, I’ve tried several times. The salad they deemed perfectly fine to serve, was the last straw; see pictures. It was expired, all leaves encased in slime, tomato rotting, really a wonderful sight to see when you get home with your order. I don’t care if you’ve worked there a decade or a day; it is common sense and respect for your customers to NOT serve them expired food. These days we’re all in short supply of money, so when I decide to drop 40 bucks, (which has an automatic gratuity for pickups btw), on a meal, you can bet that I expect it to be better than what I can make at home. Not only was this not as good as running up to the store myself, but after numerous issues and no reconciliation, I take it as an insult and an unnecessary risk to my health that this establishment was knowledgeable and ok with this leaving there kitchen for me to eat. ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE. This establishment should be PROMPTLY reviewed by a qualified inspector. Regardless, they have definitely lost my business. I wouldn’t even take a free meal, lest the chance it sends me to the Dr/ hospital. Dine somewhere else that has respect for their customers; they don’t deserve your business.

I had a wonderful lunch at Blondies Food and Spirits with my mom. The Chicken Caesar Wrap was PHENOMENAL and the service was spectacular. The owner even stopped by our table to check on us. We had a great time and will definitely be back!
