Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

So I've heard about this broken yolk from a lot of people and I just happen to find one down the street when I was going from my appointment with the doctor I was hungry because it was fasting labs. When I walked in the door they greeted me at the front counter and asked me where I would like to sit and I told him I wouldn't mind sitting at the counter so I can look outside the door. When she handed me the menu and started me off with a fresh cup of coffee, fresh ground roasted according to the waitress this morning, not too over strong, Not too under strong. I ordered the huevos ranchero and Asked the cooks to char the tortillas with a little bit of fire, and when it came out I absolutely love the fact that they had done exactly as I had asked them to charred the tortilla. Then it was a nice fresh tortilla up underneath it with the the eggs sitting on top over easy, nice and runny was the yolk. The beans were fresh and creamy and the rice was just made had sold out because they make it so well with little hits of corn inside and then the sauce and the ranchero sauce that they put on top made with fresh peppers and onions. You can taste the roast in them, but it almost had aaa pumpkin flavor to it which really added to the whole menu. Once I had finished that I tapped into this humongous blueberry pancake that one I cut inside had blueberries, baked in, had a nice fresh vanilla flavor and almost a hint of nutmeg that was absolutely tasty. The orange juice I had was freshly squeezed and after talking and a manager and the waitress at the front counter I realized that this is the one of the forgotten gems in all of Arizona and across the country and though they are a franchise, this broken yolk Cafe. You can tell the day after not forgotten what people made them to be today. Thank you Stewart

This is such a cute and wholesome place. I have been here before with my family. The service is excellent, staff is super polite. But the food? Not impressed at all. In fact, it is the worst breakfast I've had in my entire life. There is so much to choose from on the menu. I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes. A full stack. And at first, it was okay.. It was actually huge.... but I noticed how the texture was too chewy. Way too much lemon zest. It was so unpleasant. The blueberries were sour. Too much butter. The pancakes were homemade, but they tasted like cardboard. And the syrup was too sweet. Glad I only tasted it, because it would've made it 10 times worse. Oh, and they snuck a few chocolate chips in there.

This place was very solid! Our wait staff was very attentive and kind, and made sure to come by often to help us. The cinnamon pancake was AMAZING! We absolutely loved it. Most of the food won’t blow you away. It is good, but not great. Also, it is slightly pricey for the quality of food you get. Keep that in mind. We might come back here again if we are in the area!
