Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Busboys and Poets - Anacostia I was very disappointed with my food pickup experience at this location after church. I spent approximately $140 on brunch, and the quality and service did not justify the cost. The salmon was burnt, overcooked, and extremely dry, to the point that it was barely edible. The crab cake was good, which was the only positive part of the order. I called the restaurant to report the issue and spoke with Josh, who said he would speak with the manager, Mike, about the burnt salmon. I was placed on hold, but the manager never got on the line. I was told by Josh, no refund or credit would be offered for the inconvenience. There was an apology by Josh, but nothing from the manager, Mike. This was a frustrating experience, especially for a post-church brunch pickup. Based on this experience, I would recommend trying another Busboys and Poets location.

I decided to try this spot on a whim and even though it was unsettling quiet and empty on a Saturday night but I did enjoy the drinks and the shrimp appetizer. Both of those were extremely delicious

Great place for a wholesome breakfast. They have coffee, herbal teas, mimosas and everything else you could want to have with breakfast. Service was great, food didn’t take long and the environment was great
