Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Got counter seating last minute yesterday when they opened, easy online reservation. They even added Happy Birthday to the printed menu for us, very nice touch especially for us making a last minute reservation. Every app and main was amazing. Will be back to try the others, every dish I saw at other tables looked better than the next. Service is great and they cap you at 1:45 but that doesn’t bother me, they’re a small spot but it’s amazing all around. Oh and the truffle butter with the bread, divine!

This place is a gem. We were a little put off by all the rules, but once we realized how small of a place this is, we understood. Service was delightful at this husband and wife run eatery. We sat at the counter and ordered the special, which was a flank steak with chimichurri, mashed potatoes and arugula salad and we ordered the Cacio e pepe. Both dishes were good, but the steak plate was spectacular! We will definitely be back, it’s such a cute place and we had a wonderful experience.

Cacio is a charming neighborhood-style Italian bistro not at all unlike what one would find off the beaten path down some path and along the beach. This hidden gem is unpretentious yet the service, fare, and ambience are definitely Michelin-star level. We dined there this evening and enjoyed the charcuterie plate accompanied by a perfectly paired champagne. The three of us all had the beef Stroganoff (pictured) for our entree. Dare I say it was transcendant! The generous portion of New York steak, perfect fettucine, and an absolutely Heavenly sauce was world class. Service from Katie and Jared was perfectly timed and skillfully executed with precision and grace. Bottom line: skip Il Fornaio and French Laundry. Go to Cacio!
