Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

A good breakfast place for a small town like Terre Haute. We loved the food. The portion size of the skillet is quite generous for the price. It's great that they open early, coz we could leisurely spend some time before rushing to work. Impressive variety of breakfast too

Fast and friendly service and good food in a typical diner. Fried biscuits, sausage, and fried mush were all very good. Olympic skillet with pancakes was a hearty and delicious great value! Pecan waffle, with pecans ironed in, was wonderful. Good coffee, clean venue.

My family and I had lunch at Cackleberries for the first time this week. We were impressed by the variety of the menu, the cozy atmosphere, and the friendly staff. We ordered tuna croissant, chicken croissant, and meatloaf. All dishes were great 5 out of 5 except the meatloaf which received a 4 out of 5 from my husband. He said it was a little spicy. There was plenty of parking at the busiest time. I don't find croissant in other restaurants so it was a nice surprise
