If you are in the Marina, CA area looking for a delicious breakfast, brunch, or lunch, do not pass go … do not collect $200 (well, unless someone’s offering it to you no strings attached) … and go straight to Café Mia! Located in an unassuming strip mall, this little gem offers some of the tastiest breakfast dishes, quiches, sandwiches, baked goods, and morning drinks, you’ll find anywhere. Plus, a very friendly staff, and the owner (Horace) is such a great guy. If you’re lucky, you’ll be there at just the right time to hear him masterfully blast out some calls on his genuine Ram’s horn Shofar. But, it’s definitely the food that will have you hooked on this place. I’ve been there three times with the Cavegirls and have yet to be even slightly disappointed. The lox plate (not pictured, unfortunately) was loaded with fish and features a fresh bagel, tomato and onion slices,, capers, and deli-style cream cheese. The Egg Volcano is a unique and scrumptious take on the traditional omelette; stuffed with spinach, cheese, peppers, onion, choice of meat (I went with sausage), topped with sour cream, salsa, and avocado. The Breakfast Panini is packed with eggs, cheese, and breakfast meat on a fresh buttery croissant panini-style. The Veggie Quiche is like a mouthwatering eggy-cheesy-veggie-filled personal-size pie. The Caprese Panini is a tasty toasty “saladwich”. While the Cubano Panini is one of the best versions of a Cuban sandwich I’ve ever had with homemade juicy and savory pulled pork, Black Forest ham, swiss cheese, sliced pickles, and a Dijon mustard and mayo spread. They also offer a wide variety of amazing baked goods. Oh, did I mention that their prices are completely reasonable? 🤷🏼♂️ No matter what you choose, you can’t go wrong at this local hang.

In a world where it feels like cafes, coffee shops, and restaurants no longer care about service with a smile, Café Mia is the exception. Not only is the food & coffee good, but thanks to Horace (the owner) the service is exceptional. Ask for the daily special, there seems to be a daily rotation of food item specials. One of the kindest, most welcoming, and hospitable customer service experiences I’ve had in a long while!
