Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Cafe Momentum was an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. The service was above and beyond, and the food was truly finger-licking good! We visited during Restaurant Week and enjoyed a three-course meal that did not disappoint. The meatball, salmon, and smothered chicken literally melted in your mouth. The meatball does have a little kick, but my 7-year-old nephew loved it so much he said he’d just drink water after every bite 🤣. We also ordered a short rib pizza, and wow—every bite was a gift from heaven. The short ribs were incredibly tender and perfectly seasoned. Most of us couldn’t even finish our entrées because we devoured the entire eight-slice pizza first! The collard greens and spinach were seasoned to perfection, and the biscuits… whew. I almost bought the mix, but then realized I probably wouldn’t do them justice at home. And let’s talk about dessert! A chocolate tart with raspberry drizzle and a cran-apple cobbler that came out piping hot in a mini cast-iron skillet, topped with ice cream—need I say more? 😋 Don’t sleep on the mint lemonade either 🥰. Overall, this experience is an absolute MUST. Incredible food paired with an even more incredible mission is truly irreplaceable. I’m already trying to figure out when I can come back!

I had the pleasure of speaking with three waiters: Sam, Taru, and Daivon. They took great care with our table! We had the lobster ravioli and smoke fried chicken. I’m from the South and these were some solid greens: little tang, sweet and heat. No pics of the food…we cleared our plates before we could even consider it! The whipped cream on both the chocolate torte and the strawberry shortcake was divine. I love the mission of Cafe Momentum and will recommend this spot to others around Pittsburgh who need a great spot to eat + support a mission of collaboration and community restoration.

Stumbled on this place looking for restaurants near our hotel. They work to train wayward youths on a positive career path. This isn't why we went. Food was very good and so was service. They don't serve alcohol but alow you to BYOB with a cork fee
