Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

I was looking for someplace new for lunch and a friend recommended, Cafe Nova. When I lived in STL, I drove by numerous times and always told myself I needed to check it out. Well, I no longer live in STL and I am finally checking it out. Now that I have, I am pissed at myself that I didn't try it sooner. I stopped by for lunch and enjoyed a Nova Gyro that was served with a side of fries. For a minimal up-charge, I had them add Feta Cheese to mine. When the Gyro arrived, it was super huge. It was so big, I could hardly pick it up to take a bite. I ended up eating part of it as a salad with a fork until I could finally pick it up and eat it like a true Gyro. The gyro meat was well seasoned and tender. It was smothered in their house made tzatziki sauce and wrapped in a warm Pita. The toppings were plentiful and they were; sliced red onion, shredded crisp lettuce, cucumbers and vine ripe tomatoes. Adding the Feta Cheese, was a wise move. It added, an extra Greek kick to the Gyro. My glass of Pinot Grigio was a perfect accompaniment to my lunch. With it being super huge, I took a third of it home and made a salad out of it for dinner. The only negative, is their take home vessels are styrofoam and not eco-friendly. The service was attentive and friendly. My server was training a new gentleman and think he's going to do a great job. I'm already thinking about a return visit, because I need to try the baklava.

No sure how they’re still open but i guess i went here and the food was absolutely horrible!! No taste on nthn i felt lik i was eating as if i had high blood bc that’s how much seasoning was on the food and I’ve had Mediterranean food plenty of times and I’ve never tasted any that tasted like this place. Let’s not get into the portions!! Oh wow! They’re so little portioned it’s ridiculous… they give u more lemons and onions on the plate then anything.. just a heads up if u want good food this would NOT be the place.

AVOID THIS PLACE I should've known not to proceed after phoning this restaurant and experiencing rude and impatient customer service while trying to place a carryout order. Turns out that the website prices need to be updated. DISGUSTING An online order of cucumber/ feta rolls and seafood tiropita was placed for carryout. The "perfectly baked" tiropita is actually the image of the burnt pile of cheesy muck you see pictured in the enclosed image. The cucumber/ feta rolls are uncreative chunks of cucumber covered with feta. That thrown together slop is what is pictured as well. I was unable to finish the food as it was unfit for human consumption. Flavorless, bland food is severely overpriced with no return on your investment. UNPROFESSIONAL Staff is rude and rushes people out of the restaurant. They make it clear that they do not want to be bothered and could care less about providing professional customer service.
