Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

I completely adore this restaurant. The food is outstanding. It's flavorful, homemade, comforting, and nourishing. I am not thai, but I have visited Thailand, and this food is the real deal. I've eaten in and taken out. I've had lunch and dinner here. I love the lunch specials. The atmosphere is clean ans cozy with a hint of elegance. The service is always friendly and attentive. I usually order the pad kee Mow or a curry dish. My family typically orders the sushi and shares an order of the Thai basil fried rice. They say it's to die for. We also love sharing a bottle of warm saki. No matter what menu item we choose, we know we are going to love our dish and have left overs for the next day. Also, they have NEVER messed up a single order any time we've eaten here. This restaurant is my all time favorite Thai spot. The picture shows avocado rolls and chicken dumplings ordered for take out.

I would like to preface my review by saying I’m reviewing the food. The service was beyond distasteful and if I ever want the food again, I’d order it through takeout. I won a $100 gift certificate and I felt like I was being harassed and interrogated over the fact that he didn’t know how to communicate to the mediator (Step Out Buffalo) for me to come in and get my winnings. It took over 2 weeks for him to reply all for him to have an attitude that I actually wanted to use the $100 and came to our table 3 times to review the email communications he participated in as proof-all before we had a chance to order or properly review the menu. Sorry for rambling but I had to paint the picture since he was the one who served me. The food his staff made was beyond delicious. The Burmese rice, Prik Pao fried rice, teriyaki chicken and sushi were to die for. Please make sure you order TO GO. Don’t make the same mistake I had.

I feel bad leaving poor reviews but sometimes it has to be done… my third time ordering from Camellia. First time was fine. Second time my partner was unhappy with the pad Thai - he said it was very plain. I had the Vietnamese pho which was good but the rare beef was really big and hard to eat. We both had some GI symptoms the next day but pinned it on some anxiety from a personal issue we were having at the time. Just picked up our third order and we aren’t happy.. not only was the portion size small, but the taste of my partner’s red curry was so off, it was like spicy watered down coconut milk. The chicken was dry, rubbery and sparse. Barely any rice. The mushrooms were so rough looking, I don’t think they should have been used at all and the red peppers were undercooked. I feel bad for making him order from here again, twice in a row now it was a bad experience. The taste of my chicken pho was good but my stomach did not enjoy it. My chicken was also strange. I’ve never had this problem with pho from any other restaurant. Sadly I don’t think we’ll be ordering again, despite all the great reviews it just doesn’t do it for us. Lastly I’ll mention that when I ordered over the phone today I didn’t realize the man read back the price to me. My partner thought he heard it and mentioned that it sounded high. Turns out he was right and when I got there they had added on an extra curry, but they took it off so we didn’t have to pay. The woman who cashed us out was very sweet, but unfortunately the food just hasn’t been it. Also the prices are a little higher than in the menu photo on Google so beware of that detail.
