Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

My last meal in Baton Rouge was at Cecelia's Creole Bistro. I wanted to get a taste of some authentic dishes and it was a spot I would revisit. I ordered the cornbread skillet, I loved the cinnamon butter but skipped the syrup because I thought it would be too sweet for me. The cornbread was not over sweetened and I only wish it has some whole. corn kernels in it as well. I ordered both the Gumbo and a special seafood chowder. The Gumbo didn't catch my taste buds as much as the special did. My main course had a lot to offer in one dish including blackened reddish which had a nice texture and flavor, collard Greens and crayfish etouffee as a topper. Overall I was pleased with the dish but think they could have added less etoufee and it would have been fine. Completely full, I passed on dessert. The interior was simply appointed with nice natural light. Although busy I thought they were slow to bus the tables but I did like seeing the all hands on deck nature of the servers.

First time visiting from OH. First off, reservations are recommended. The food was delicious & tasty and traditional. The cocktails were well balanced and delicious. The service was good. This isn't the most amazing cajun tasting restaurant but good.

An adorable small restaurant in the heart of downtown. We came in on a whim and didn’t have a reservation, but the very friendly staff were able to get us a table with no wait. The inside is adorable, romantic and quaint. Everything we ordered was excellent! The cornbread appetizer was a 10/10, the gumbo was unique and genuinely some of the best I’ve ever had, the Mahi Mahi special was perfectly cooked and paired with perfect sides, and the Cajun fish was incredible. This is our new go-to restaurant when we’re in town!
