Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Stopped by Church Street Café and it ended up being one of the highlights of our visit to Old Town Albuquerque. We tried the Navajo bread taco, enchiladas, and the chili con queso — everything was absolutely amazing. The flavors were rich and comforting, and the portions were generous. On top of that, the café is set inside a beautiful historic building, which made the whole experience feel even more special. So glad we decided to stop in while exploring Old Town. A perfect blend of great food and local history.

What a wonderful surprise! The food is outstanding and don’t be fooled by the tiny entrance. This place is massive. Live band playing beautiful music. Our waiter was really cool and nice! He Recommended the Navajo taco which was the highlight of the meal.

We stumbled on to this amazing restaurant when we googled a unique local cafe in old town Albuquerque. It was like an Alice in Wonderland experience. Your “trip” begins as you go into a rather small entrance, greeted warmly by “you are going to love yourself for coming here”…we follow our guide through a maze of rooms and hallways, each beckoning us to explore this historical ranch house turned restaurant. When we turn the last corner we enter a beautiful large room decorated in true Santa Fe style. And the “icing on the cake”? The authentic cuisine is amazing. We had vegetarian home made tamales with Christmas sauce. Our favorite was the green. Also flatbread instead of a traditional tostada. Yummy!!! Last but not least. Sopapillas dripping with honey. This will be our go to place to eat when traveling through Albuquerque!!! If it is warm, the patio dining with waterfall is a great option!!!
