This Mexican restaurant has garnered praise for its exceptional mole, with reviewers consistently raving about its flavor and authenticity. The michelada, a refreshing drink made with beer, lime juice, and spices, has also been highlighted as a standout item. The renovated interior, which now boasts a beautiful and welcoming atmosphere, has been a welcome change for many visitors. Visitors should be aware that the menu has been scaled back, but the quality of the food has increased significantly. Reservations may be a good idea, especially on weekends, as the restaurant can get busy. Parking in the area can be a challenge, so plan accordingly.

Excerpts

This is the best mole in New York! The experience this restaurant provides is amazing. The food was exceptional, the drinks were delicious, the music was vibing. Hands down my favorite Mexican food restaurant in New York. In a personal note, I haven't had a michelada like that other than how my mom makes it. And I've been chasing a mole with that taste for over 20 years. Tears just down ran my face after the first bite because it tasted like my childhood. Thank you to the chef. This was an incredible dinning experience. We had the Sopa de Tortilla, Esquites, Chips and Salsa, Grilled Octopus and Mole de Carnitas.

I went here last night and left genuinely impressed. The menu is smaller than it used to be, but the food is SO good. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, and you can really tell the quality went up. They also renovated the place and it looks beautiful. I never liked how it looked before and always sat outside because it felt small and dark inside, now it feels bright and inviting. The service was great. The wait staff were attentive and on top of everything, and the manager was very nice and accommodating. We had steak tacos with homemade tortillas (so good), grilled octopus which was amazing and not something I usually order, enchiladas, rice and beans, loaded chorizo fries, steak fondue, and churros with coconut ice cream. Everything was delicious. The agua de Jamaica was perfect, not too sweet and not too sour. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food. I’ll definitely be back again and again.
