So while moving my friend to Simpsonville, SC (right outside of Greenville), we stopped at the Coach House restaurant for dinner before hitting the road back to Florida to finish packing. Was looking for some down home cooking and we found it. Menu took us a bit to decide as all the "diner" favorites were there plus. Friend had the Roast Beef, mashed potatoes, and broccoli casserole. Devoured the roast beef with Thumbs Up... but did ask to return the broccoli casserole for green beans. Casserole was starchy and gummy but to their credit we were late diners. They were very gracious! I had the Chicken Fried Steak... where I am from it's called a Fritter... AND yum. Pounded thin and tender with a light crispy crust. My sides were respectable but a bit ordinary and the cornbread.... uhhhh I mean corncake was tasty. They shined on the desserts... in an old fashioned glass dessert wheel... our many decades old faces peered at them through the glass like we were children. Friend decided on the decadent Chocolate Cheesecake and I got the Eclair. Not stingy!!! I had custard dripping down my chin. Took us 2 days of midnight girl talk to eat these rich, luscious treats and eat them we did. Service was excellent, food came out hot and spot on to our requests. As I plan on visiting the area a couple times a year... will also visit the Coach House again.... oh Eclair and fritter of my dreams here I come.

We discovered this restaurant thanks to positive reviews. First of all, the positive reviews are true. The food was fantastic. The food was freshly prepared and very tasty. I haven't had chips as good as those here in a long time. The selection of cakes was enormous; unfortunately, I was already so full from my meal that there was no room for it, even with the best will in the world. I hope I get the chance to try one sometime. The service was excellent. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Thank you for letting me be your guest.

The food was hot and fresh. The fried porkchops were great. The vegetables were hot and tasty. The waitress did a great job. We would have gotten desert, but we were full. The deserts look delicious and they say they are home made. We will be back.
