I checked out Cobra Cabana in Richmond, and it’s one of those places with a really cool, gritty personality. The restaurant has a punk-rock, dive-bar vibe with quirky decor and a laid-back crowd, which makes it feel unique compared to typical spots in the city. The food is classic comfort bar food but done really well. I tried one of their burgers with fries, and it was juicy, messy in the best way, and packed with flavor. They’re also known for their Nashville hot chicken sandwich and creative vegan options, which makes the menu surprisingly diverse. The atmosphere is lively, the drinks are affordable, and the staff keeps things friendly and relaxed. If you like casual spots with personality, good burgers, and late-night food, Cobra Cabana is definitely a fun place to hang out in Richmond.

Super chill. The beer is on a roating tap. And the food for a small rva dive bar is actually sublime. The music choice is also super cool. It's not hip hop at all. Which is good or bad but it creates a different atmosphere than almost every bar in richmond and for that reason its quickly become one of my fav bars literally in the country. I would at any point recommend this place to anyone who wants to get a real taste of the essence of richmond.

If you're white you'll probably get a 5 star experience. I'm still wondering why 1) the patio bar dude (who wasn't busy) made me and my other Black friend order pickup online (meaning we have to walk back inside to get our food) but not my light Latine friend. 2) a random man is coming up to me in the patio saying i need to pay a $10 cover charge for his band, which is weird because the staff could've told me that at any interaction but chose not to. Like I'm literally waiting for my burger for over 30 minutes, asking staff questions that make it clear that I've never been here before, and now i need to pay a random guy $10 to keep sitting in the patio?? 3) they are marking pick up orders as ready... when they're not ready. The burger was good, fries heavily salted, but overall not good enough to go through this experience again. Yikes. RE: owner response. as stated neither restaurant staff nor patio staff said anything about a show & cover. There were 3 of us. The only person that was allowed to order at the bar wasn't Black. the show was at 7, we were in the patio ordering food starting at 6.
